Broadband situation - slipping badly
The Fastershire stage 3 deployment plans for this area seem to be receding into the distance. This stage provides superfast broadband for most properties that are not already covered by the previous stages (Church Road, Green farm Lane, A465 from Goosepool area towards Locks).

Following delays in deployment in Herefordshire by the contractor Gigaclear, Fastershire have asked for a new and more realistic deployment plan which they anticipate publishing in December. We need to see this new plan, to be sure of what we are facing, but the signs are not good.

Until recently, the Fastershire website was showing that deployment in our area was expected to start in February 2019 but now reflects that they are waiting for this new deployment plan. Also for a short while until recently, the Gigaclear website showed a revised schedule with a build start in Q3 2019 and end in Q2 2021. I can’t find this any longer, it appears they have removed the rollout plan document for this area.

There is an update on the current situation of the Fastershire website at Stage 3 gigaclear update which also states that in the new deployment plan some areas may see deployment sooner than previously shown and some later.

For more details of the service and a presentation go to the broadband section.
